Deciding not to endure the Seattle winter this year, I've gone to the southern hemisphere for six months. First a month of travel in Bolivia and north and central Chile, then on to southern Chile for my internship with the Chol Chol Foundation in Temuco. Fundacion Chol Chol is a fair trade organization that promotes the artisan work of Mapuche weavers.

llama fetuses
Today´s activities included a visit to La Paz´s Witches Market where llama fetuses are sold along with a milieu of other natural remedies for any ailment you can think of. We also learned everything we ever wanted to know about coca at the Coca Museum (don´t do cocaine - it´s bad for you and for the world!). We finished the evening at a cholita wrestling match in El Alto.
